LORI EVICTED 5-4, MARCELLAS NEW HoH

After his use of Veto Power and his controversial speech, Gerry feels proud of his actions, declaring, "I will leave this House a richer man than when I came in, whether I get a dime." Sitting outside with Gerry and Marcellas, Lori calls his speech a "beautiful confession," but Gerry corrects her: it was a "manly confession."

Contrasting the emerging alliances in the House, Marcellas says it's like "'Touched by an Angel' vs. 'Baywatch.'" The Group of Six, of which Gerry was a part, along with Eric, Lisa, Chiara, Roddy and Josh, feel betrayed by his use of Veto Power and banish him from their ranks, replacing him with Tonya. This makes Chiara and Lisa more comfortable, because now the group has an equal number of women and men. Almost immediately, the new group splits along gender lines, planning their moves, looking down the road to when their Group of Six are the last HouseGuests standing. While the Group of Six have strength in numbers, Gerry has aligned himself with Lori, Amy and Marcellas into a second faction. As these two groups circle each other warily, Jason and Danielle remain contented outsiders, willing to "let them fight amongst themselves."

In the Living Room, host Julie Chen talks to the assembled HouseGuests. She asks Danielle how she feels about the introduction of the Veto Competition. Danielle calls it "scandalous" and says that whoever thought of that wrinkle is "sick." Marcellas, saved by the Power of Veto, feels differently and gives Gerry, his savior, a kiss on the cheek, in appreciation. Jason admits that the $3,000 he stands to split with Lori for each week they both remain in the House is coloring his decision, but mostly because everyone else keeps bringing it up. As for the nominees, Amy tells everyone that she enjoyed her "reign as nominee," and Lori calls the entire BIG BROTHER experience a "great adventure."

FIRST VOTE
With the first three votes in the eviction process, Gerry and Danielle vote to evict Amy, while Tonya votes to evict Lori.

Meanwhile, the nominees' supporters back home react to the news. Lorraine, Marcellas' roommate, regards Marcellas as her "little brother, like the son my parents never had." She watches him on TV and yells encouragement to him, noticing that initially he didn't seem to be "interacting with the others." Lori's mother Myrna is concerned that Lori "might be seen as a crybaby" because her emotions have overcome her a few times, but adds that Lori is a "Mom first" who cares more about her kids than anything else in the world. When Gerry uses the Veto Power to save Marcellas, Lorraine watches happily, jumping and screaming. Amy's parents, Fay and Taylor, admit that Amy "comes on like a snob" but is very funny once people get to know her. Myrna says that Lori's experiences in the House have been "hard to watch," while Fay says Amy has "more confidence, but that could work against her."
