7-29-04 HoH: I HAVE A SECRET
Arrayed in the backyard are life-size cutouts of each HouseGuest; in front of these cutouts is a lighted box. Each HouseGuest must stand on the lighted box, their feet behind a black line, lean forward and push a button positioned directly over the mouth of the their life-size cut-out, as though they are shushing themselves. In order to keep the light on, and stay in the game, each HouseGuest must keep their finger pressing down the button. If they release their hand, the light goes off, and they are eliminated. The last person to have their box lit up wins HoH. Since this is an endurance competition, this episode ends without a new HoH.
7-27-04 POWER OF VETO: BLUFF ME A VETO
BIG BROTHER 5 goes Vegas as HoH Drew and those he put on the block try and bluff their way to victory in Bluff Me A Veto. As is now the rule in BIG BROTHER 5, each nominee and the HoH get to choose a partner to play in the game as well.
Each person will have a turn as a "Dealer." They will draw a card with a question and answer printed on it. The answer is a truthful response that had previously given to that question on a questionnaire. They will read the question to the other 5 HouseGuests and either read the truthful answer or bluff a different answer. The HouseGuests have to decide whether that person is telling the truth or bluffing. They signify whether they believe or not by placing a bet with a giant chip in front of them that either reads "Bluff' or "Truth." If the HouseGuest guesses correctly they get to keep their chip. If they are wrong, the "Dealer" gets to keep their chip. The winner is the HouseGuest with the most chips at the end of two rounds.
Nakomis bluffs her way to victory, and uses the PoV on herself.
7-24-04 FOOD: ALPHABET SOUP
This food competition is all about dotting your i's and crossing your t's. To win their food for the week, the HouseGuests must leap into a giant bowl of tomato flavored Alphabet Soup, grabbing letters that spell a type of food. They must then place those letters on a slate and call out the kind of food that it is. Consonants are on the surface, vowels are on the bottom. Upon completion of each food type, the HouseGuest must then clear the slate by dumping the letters back into the bowl.
Marvin shows what's most important to him and spells out BEER first. Cowboy goes for surf and turf and spells out BEEF in his first turn, and in a moment of inspiration, LOBSTER in his second. Scott's intelligence and agility are called into question, first as he stumbles into the soup bowl. Then he spells STEAK, which is a kind of beef, and misspells CHEESE. Will shows his sense of humor by spelling EGG, a nod to his bad egg move of the week before. Jase gets PIZZA. Diane spells MILK. Adria, yearning for fruit, spells APPLE. Holly suggests she would like some roughage but spells out WINE. Karen goes for the COLA. Jennifer takes the PORK.
