08.19.04 HoH: WHO SAID IT?
It's time for a crucial HoH Competition. The remaining HouseGuests head to the backyard for a session of Who Said It? In this game, the HouseGuests must guess which evicted HouseGuest--Mike, Lori, Holly, Scott or Jase--said each statement that Julie reads aloud. In front of each player is a pentagon with the face of each evicted HouseGuest. After Julie reads a statement, the HouseGuests rotate the pentagon to show which person they believe said it. Those answering incorrectly are eliminated. All except Nakomis and Diane are quickly eliminated. In the tiebreaker round, Nakomis wins HoH for the second time.
8-17-04 PoV: A VERY VETO CHRISTMAS
It's Christmas in August as the HouseGuests find out that to win the Golden Power of Veto they need to grab pairs of presents with the highest number of vetoes attached to those presents.
Each HouseGuest selects a pair of gifts, opens them, and finds within each gift a number of vetoes that accompany the gift. HouseGuests can also steal one of the two gifts or select anew. This is the first round.
At the end of the first round there is a twist, where each HouseGuest can choose from a stocking. Inside the stocking is either 10 more veto points, a luxury gift, or a zero that eliminates all the veto points a player may have accumulated before.
Adria's luck holds, and she wins the Power of Veto.
8-17-04 LUXURY: ADMIT ONE
In the second Luxury Competition of BIG BROTHER 5, the prize is a private screening of "Without A Paddle" from Paramount Pictures.
There are three alleyways with lights arrayed on either side of the alleyway. At the end of the alley is a giant bowl of M&M's with a larger than life golden M&M atop the bowl. To win the screening, two of the three HouseGuests must create a red carpet out of jagged pieces. When they are done with creating the carpet they must run back to their seats and the third member of the trio runs down the red carpet and digs through the M & M's to fin the golden M & M and win the competition.
Drew, Diane and Will win the competition.
08.14.04 FOOD: BACKYARD BURGER BONANZA
The HouseGuests head to the backyard, where they see two giant picnic tables bearing stations of buns, burgers, garnishes and condiments. Both teams will have five minutes to make as many cheeseburgers as possible. Natalie and Michael are on Bun Duty; Marvin and Nakomis are the Grillmasters; Diane and Karen are the Garnishers. Overseeing the condiments are Drew and Will. Each burger must contain a bun, a burger, garnishes and condiments. Burgers without those items will not be counted. The team with the most cheeseburgers will enjoy groceries and use of an outdoor grill; the other team, of course, will live on PB&J for the week. In the end, the blue team (Michael, Will, Nakomis, & Karen) scores 11 burgers, while the red team (Natalie, Drew, Marvin and Diane) has 10, and must live on PB&J for the week.
