THE COLD, HARD SMELL OF CASH
The second round of the HoH Competition begins. Janelle and Maggie face off for their shot at a place in the final round. Two giant padlocks await the housemates in the backyard. On the top of the padlocks are eight clues. The HouseGuests have to run onto the platform to remove the clue-covers and reveal the questions. The answers are numbers ranging from 0 to 9. Turning the dial to the matching number, they will eventually dial the correct combination to open the lock. Janey and Mags both find the brain-teasers challenging, trying a number of times to unlock their padlocks unsuccessfully. "The game was tiring intellectually…I couldn't figure out which of the questions I was missing," Maggie sighs. Finally, Janelle figures out the correct combination, unlocking her lock and removing her key first. Janelle will now face Ivette in the final round of the ultimate HoH Challenge. "That was hard!" She yells, yells, smiling, "What a relief!"
Returning inside, Janelle spies the new glass table and screams "Oh my God, there's money!" Inside the glass table is a whopping $500,000 in cash with a note to let the housemates know this is what half a million dollars looks like, and this is what is up for grabs in the Grand Prize.
Janelle and Ivette play chess while discussing BIG BROTHER 6 strategy. Ivette acknowledges that Janelle can beat her in competitions. Janelle reminds Ivette that she needs to make a choice. At the end of the game, does she want a friend, or the money? Janey reveals that she intends to pick her, not Maggie, to take to the finals. Ivette imagines what she can do with the money if she won, admitting it would change her and her family's lives. Janelle then makes the point that Ivette can't afford to pick Maggie if she wants to win the money, as there are likely to be too many people in the Jury who would vote for Mags to win over her. It is food for thought as Ivette contemplates her choices.
Host Julie Chen welcomes back the final three HouseGuests. Asking the girls a few quick questions, they laugh and reminisce about past HouseGuests. Asking who the girls miss the most in the house, Janey admits she misses Michael, whereas Maggie and Ivette miss Eric the most.
