Season 4: Episode 07: Primacy

After a man plunges to his death while participating in a promotional alternate reality game (ARG) for the game franchise Primacy, the team investigates the obsessive world of video gamers. They turn to Amita, an avid player of Primacy, for help not only explaining the ARG/video game world, but with tracking down the killer as well. They quickly discover that the culprit is killing anyone who takes the lead in the ARG, which offers a prize of a million dollars. They are able to identify the prime suspect through his avatar, Spectre, but when they rush to arrest him, they find him dead and realize the real killer is still out there. With few options, the team sets up a sting in which Amita plays Spectre online and he will think he's won the final clue, which will draw him into an ambush. However, caught up in the excitement of the game, Amita actually wins and is forced to meet the killer in person. Surrounded by undercover officers, Amita goes to meet him, and just as he attacks her, Don comes to her rescue. Guest star DJ Qualls.
