Tiffany Evans & Janel Parrish
First in the Junior Singer category was 10-year-old Tiffany Evans, who wants to be an obstetrician someday. After hearing Tiffany sing "I Am Changing," Ben Stein advised her, "Skip the obstetrician part. I wouldn't have believed it possible if I hadn't seen and heard it with my own ears." "Absolutely amazing," said Carol Leifer, adding, "I'd love to hear that in the delivery room one day." Jack Osbourne agreed: "I've seen so many musicians three times your age, and not one was as good as you." Naomi Judd said, "Baby girl! You already are an actress. You live your songs." All four judges gave Tiffany 5 stars.
The second Junior singer was 14-year-old Janel Parrish, who performed "On My Own." Ben Stein said Janel has a "lot of talent, but not quite up to the top rank," and gave her 4 stars. "Great Broadway voice," remarked Carol Leifer, who gave her 3 stars. Jack Osbourne called Janel's performance good and gave her 4 stars. Naomi Judd gave Janel 2 stars, advising her, "You have a future someday in musicals, but you have some work to do. You've got some practicing to do."
Tiffany was ahead as the judging ended, with a perfect 20 stars. The home audience agreed with the judges: Tiffany Evans won the category with 38 stars and will advance to next Thursday's Semifinals. |
