topcntryfn: Were you surprised that they gave you guys no food?
Peter Harkey: No. Natives have been living on that island very comfortably for quite some time. There was ample food to survive, clearly. We were fortunate to find water and that was my main concern and we got lucky.
RAINMAN: Hey Peter! Now that you've seen Show #1, what did you think about Rotu's waterfall? Did they have it easy?
Peter Harkey: Oh, I couldn't tell from watching the show. Sure, the waterfall looked beautiful but I believe that the Survivor staff would try to make the sites as balanced and equal and fair as possible. This I'm certain of. Integrity is very important to the CBS and Survivor crews.
mngirl: Do you think that Hunter taking "charge" will be an advantage or disadvantage?
Peter Harkey: It's a funny and unpredictable game. I would only be guessing. I'll leave the guessing to you! *laughs* I know one thing, I'll be glued to the TV set. I'm looking forward to watching the whole series.
Open Up and Let me In: Peter. . . why were you talking about holes so much?
Peter Harkey: *laughs* It was only for a couple minutes, we were there for three days! I have those conversations. . . frequently with the people that I care for. My heart was open to my fellow contestants and I wanted to share my thoughts with them.
King of the Jungle: What do you think of Sarah?
Peter Harkey: Sarah is Sarah. She puts herself forward as she is. Like her or not, I respect that about Sarah. She's a strong person.
DTCutting: Peter, how did your expectations compare to what you experienced on the show?
Peter Harkey: Well, my expectations were that it would be challenging. It was - - especially on a social level. Physically, it may have been actually easier than I thought, but please note I was only there for three days.
rodgerfan: So what happens after you give your little speech after being voted off? Where do they take you?
Peter Harkey: They take us to a nearby, I think they refer to it as a safe house, where I had dinner and actually I craved a soda, a cola, and I don't drink cola that often. I thought that odd. I took a nice long shower and went to bed. We left the safe house and went to the other side of the island before sunrise. Security was tight and secrecy was very important to the crew. I stayed on the other side of the island awaiting the arrival of more contestants but please don't feel sorry for me. . . * laughs* I was fortunate enough to go scuba diving, tuna fishing, running along the coast, swimming with the manta rays, kayaking and processing the wonderful events that had taken place.
