SURVIVOR Host: If you're just joining us, we're chatting live with Survivor Alex Bell. There are lots of great questions, so let's get begin! Hey Alex! Thanks for being here today. Are you ready for some questions?
Alex: I'm ready. Let's go!
Sabrina: Alex, I know that you suspected that it was Rob that "flipped" on you, so what was your reaction last night when you learned that your suspicion was correct? And do you think Rob is playing the game well?
Alex: I was not very surprised when I found out that it was Rob that voted me out. Rob's playing a really great game. I think he's probably the best player to ever play SURVIVOR, in my opinion.
IHeartEthan: Hello Alex, what were you thinking telling Rob you'd vote him out first in the final four?
Alex: That's just how I treat my friends. I tell them what's going on and I'm straight up with them. I consider Rob a friend. I have no ill will.
Manazon: Alex, who was the biggest slacker and who was the hardest worker?
Alex: I think we all had our moments of being a slacker and a hard worker. We all had our jobs out there that we did well. I may not have gone and gathered all the firewood, but I chopped and stacked it so that we could keep the fire going twenty-four hours a day.
AlexRingsMyBell: Alex, why did Christy dislike you so much?
Alex: Your guess is as good as mine. Christy didn't make a whole lot of effort to get to know me, and I didn't make a whole lot of effort to get to know her. I don't know why she felt that way about me.
mimi2: Is there anyone in the tribe that you wouldn't talk to after this?
Alex: No, I harbor no ill will toward anyone. I'm actually looking forward to seeing them at the finale.
DanieuBleau: Hi Alex. Did it seem to you that Matthew threw the Immunity Challenge?
Alex: No, I don't believe that Matthew threw the Immunity Challenge. I think Rob and he were both trying as hard as they could to make sure that I didn't get it.
Kya_: Hey, Alex! Is Matt really as physco as he is said to be?
Alex: It was a little strange being out there with him. There was definitely something off. I'm not sure if it's his mental state or the lack of food and water from being in the Amazon so long. Something was off.
SURVIVORStudent: Alex, how does it feel to know that "Matteo" made it further in the game than you did?
Alex: I'm fine with that. Matt's doing what he has to do to get by, and luckily for him, Rob has decided that he can come along for the ride.
amazongurl: Alex, are you and Shawna dating? And what did you really think of Jenna and Heidi?
Alex: No, Shawna and I are not dating, and I think that Jenna and Heidi are both really, really great girls. They're both very smart and independent women, and I have a lot of respect for them. It may not have been well documented on the show, but they're really on top of it and they have their heads on straight.
Danielle: Alex, do you feel that Heidi and Jenna put on fake personalities, or do they really act that snobbish/superior off camera?
Alex: I don't think that they came off as snobbish/superior at all. I think they were out there doing their thing like the rest of us. How ever people want to take them for whatever reason, that's their business. I think they're really cool, really smart girls.
SURVIVORStudent: Alex, do you think that aligning with Heidi and Jenna hurt you?
Alex: No, I went into the whole thing deciding to be myself, and you know, Heidi and Jenna and I bonded. We've all gone through tough things in our lives and had to survive on our own and bonded over similar life experiences. I wouldn't change it. And we will be friends after this whole experience.
kitblue: What color is the sky in your reality?
Alex: Um, I go for a nice shade of plaid.
alexcooljeffprobst: Alex, you rock, and Jeff Probst rocks. Is he as amazingly cool as he seems?
Alex: Jeff is a great guy! I'm actually a huge Jeff Probst fan, and not just because people think we look alike. I like Jeff a lot, and I'm looking forward to seeing him at the finale.
Manazon: Alex, you came across kind of arrogant. Were you, or was it the editing?
Alex: I don't really think that I came across as arrogant. Rob made a comment about me being arrogant, and I was just coming to him and telling him what I was thinking. If being honest with your friends is arrogant, then I guess I am.
CHRISTYHASCLASS: Alex, I was soooo glad to see you get what you gave Deena. How was it to have to face her again?
Alex: I have nothing but the utmost respect for Deena. It hurt my feelings when she came after me, and that's why I went after her. If she and I hadn't done that, we probably could've won the whole thing. I don't have any bad feelings toward her. I think she's awesome.
johnantoniw: Which Castaway from a previous SURVIVOR season do you relate yourself to the most, and why?
Alex: Wow, there's a good question! In all honesty, I haven't watched enough of the prior seasons to answer that. But I will tell you that pre-being on SURVIVOR, Lex and I knew each other, so we have actually been friends for a long time.
CHRISTYHASCLASS: Alex, everyone one in the chat rooms are really mad about Jeff for caving in and letting Jenna have a letter. Jenna has been so mean to and rude to Christy. Did she even tell her thanks?
Alex: Actually, Jenna did say thank you, and you know, Jenna really wanted to hear from her mom. It's a difficult situation to be in when a loved one is struggling with cancer and you're completely cut off from them. I think that Christy showed a great amount of compassion saying it was okay that Jeff put up another letter. That was a moment for me when the game was just suspended and we were all just humans for a moment.
flygal: Alex, would you pose for Playgirl?
Alex: No! [laughs] I think for women posing for Playboy can boost their career, and I think it's the opposite for men. I think posing for Playgirl will do more damage than help you out.
AlexRingsMyBell: Alex, how unbearable was Roger?
Alex: Roger was tough. He's a very opinionated, stubborn guy. There's a lot of things about him that I respect, and I respect his opinion as his opinion. It did get trying at times to be around him and listen to him spouting his opinion like it was the only one, and that was why he had to go.
Survivor_fanatic: What gave you the idea for your audition tape?
Alex: I just wanted to show who I really am, so I had a friend follow me around coaching a swim workout and interacting with some of the athletes that I coach. I figured it was my best bet. My whole strategy through the game was to just be myself, and it started with that.
lei: If you had won the money, what's the first thing you would buy?
Alex: Well, I said in my profile that it'd be a 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with the price of gas these days it probably would have been a new car. Maybe an Audi S4.
lefty: Are those parasites that swim up your urine stream real or an Amazonian legend ?
Alex: They are in fact real! Hence the reason every guy was required to bring a speedo and wear it when they went in the water.
harmony: Aren't you more than a little ashamed about lounging around with your little clique while the others worked their butts off?
Alex: No, 'cuz later in the day I did the work that I did every day: chopping wood for our fire.
paradice: Alex, what was by far the worst thing you had to overcome out there, critter-wise or anything else?
Alex: The worst thing to overcome is the mental part of the game. The very long, boring hours out there and it takes serious mental strength to just be there, much less "play the game."
jimcpa: Alex, how much did the guys want to kill Dan after the first challenge for falling off the log OVER and OVER!
Alex: That was probably the most frustrating moment of the entire game. To watch him fall off repeatedly was just painful.
carmen: Alex, what was your most glorious moment on the show?
Alex: My most glorious moment on the show was winning the coffee Reward Challenge. I am a full-on coffee snob, and it was just awesome to be able to spend the afternoon drinking coffee and watching the Amazon flow by.
