Love, adventure and romantic hijinks are afloat when "The Love Boat" sails to the beautiful Eternal City of Rome and the sites of glorious Capri and Venice in a special two-hour premiere. Shelly Winters and Ernest Borgnine are a seemingly happy couple on board with their family to celebrate their anniversary. However, their real plans concern divorce in "Venetian Love Song," written by Mike Marmer. In "The Arrangement," written by Mike Marmer, a young Italian woman (Marie Osmond) chaperoned by her maiden aunt (Candy Azarra) is on the ship en route to meet her future husband for the first time. However, once on board she meets and falls in love with a young man (John James), causing problems and heartache. In a dual role, Fred Grandy finds his life in turmoil when he falls for a gorgeous gal (Christopher Norris) and finds himself kidnapped by a man also in love with the girl, who looks just like him, in "Arrividerci, Gopher," written by Sid Morse. A divorcee (Meredith Baxter-Birney) has a whirlwind romance with a handsome count (David Birney) only to find that he is being paid for the pleasure of her company. Rossano Brazzi also guests in "The Gigolo," written by Tony Webster.
